Inspiring and Aspiring Women of the Outdoors

The women of Northern Colorado Outdoors continue to amaze and inspire me each and every time I see them. With their every day lives, they are all seemingly ordinary. They all have jobs and families and responsibilities; however, on the weekends when we all go play together, they are instantly transformed into adventurous and warrior women. They try new things, and push themselves to the very limits of their beings.

It's difficult to know where to begin. The story of the woman who came to Colorado to get away for the summer, and she ended up making friends and coming back to live! She tried just about everything from hiking and biking to mountaineering and climbing! She just tried snowshoeing last weekend, and she has more plans for the summer to keep it going! I can't wait to see what she does next!

There's the story of the woman that was going through a divorce when she started with our group, and she was working on losing some weight and getting in shape. She is now signed up for a half marathon and she is running better than ever! She is spending time with her teenage son, and she just joined the board of the Parks and Recreation department! She always has something new happening in her life. She has been trying activities like ice fishing and archery. She has absolutely transformed her life!

There was a woman that I worked with a few years ago that joined the group and wanted to get in shape and lose weight. Now, a few years later, she is cycling in century rides and running in half marathons. She has lost the weight, and she is in the best shape of her life!

These are just a few of the stories that come to the top of my head about women who have inspired me. All of these women are so much more than ordinary, and they are all excited about life and getting out in the world and experiencing as much of it as possible. This is exactly what life is about, and I am happy that Northern Colorado Outdoors has given them an opportunity to find themselves and activities that give them this sense of fulfillment!
